Looking for the best place to purchase a flywheel to replace the discontinued GM dual-mass flywheel
or complete clutch conversion kit that uses single mass flywheel
(1991 6-speed)

(I'm in Canada but looking for the best source)

Hello Piper
A number of years ago I had the clutch and flywheel replaces with the dual mass flywheel, it was not cheap and regardless I understand they are no longer available. The only places I have seen complete conversion kits are from the American suppliers. Try Ecklers, Corvette Central, Mid America or maybe even Rock Auto. You might also check in at some of the specialist corvette shops in Ontario.
In the past there were problems with excessive gear rattle and vibration when going to single mass, but the conversion kits, at least read like, this has been resolved.

Good luck.

Most have posted that they had luck dealing with ZF Doc but these kits are touted as a complete solution Yet, nobody has posted anywhere that they were successful in eliminating the flywheel noise with a conversion kit. Neither Ecklers nor Zip Corvette (who sells them) can even answer this question.

In a further look online I stumbled on to Parts Avatar. They are Canadian and show a LUK component, but its clutch only with a reference to flywheel. There are some threads on this topic .
Keep posting , am curious to see how you make out. I certainly hope that I do not have to do a clutch and flywheel again but
nothing lasts forever.

After much research I got to the bottom of the rattling flywheel at idle.
Another forum member told me about a similar issue he had but the cause was a misfire causing the idle to be rough which in combination with an aftermarket flywheel made the loud rattling noise at idle.

Fuel injectors are all supposed to measure 16 Ohms on their coil but five of my injectors were below 10 ohms.
I ordered a new set of Delphi injectors from fuel injector connection and had my mechanic replace all 8.

The car now idles beautifully and 95% of the noise is gone.
