Well the wife and I embarked on our first 4 wheel road trip in many years. What a treat if you block out the speeding ticket. A yellow C7 can grab a lot of attention especially if you are running on a lonely highway 14 MPH over the limit. Thinking it was 14KPH over but oh ya we are in the freaking States now. So off to the bank we go to get a bank draft for $125 USD that is about $162.00 CDN. On day one in the States no more than 45 minutes. Well 10 days and 2850 miles later we are home.
Just before we left I put the AS/3 Pilot Tires on the Beast and what a difference in touring comfort. Less noise and smoother ride. Ran in Eco on the trips between stops and in Sport in town and averaged 8.8 L Per 100KM. Not bad.
Great trip thru BC, Idaho, Oregon and Washington except for the speeding Ticket. Did I mention that the wife got the ticket. True Story.
So the C7 is a great ride to tour in it handles like a dream and was a treat. next trip in 2 weeks to Whistler. Sport Mode all the way!!!

Later.....

Russ, shame about the ticket but is sounds like that was the only negative. Speaking of negatives, got any pictures?

Glad you had a good time. This is a car Elizabeth May could ride in and not feel bad.

Not that you would want her to however.:WillyNilly:

Too bad about the ticket..right now we are on the Ferry to Victoria after doing a similar run once we left the PCH. We headed up to to Crater Lake, Oregon, along the coast in Washington and now we are heading over to the Island for a day...

Got some abs wicked piks of the car with Crater Lake in the background...

We were at Crater Lake on Sunday the 9th. Unfortunately lots of smoke and visibility was about 40%-50%. Beautiful area though. You are a long way from home!! Victoria is a favourite of ours love the Magnolia hotel walking distance to lots of pubs and restaurants as well as the harbour. Enjoy!
So what does PCH stand for?

Pacific Coast Highway... Once out of Crater on 27, we came right through a forest fire just before they closed the road... some piks I will get up but it was a bit scary with the fires so close... We are heading up the 17 to Port Alberni this morning I think.

I thought you might have meant that. The 101. If you head up to Port Alberni make sure you stop at the Cathedral Groves and walk thru the trees. It is a short loop and the trees in there are Hugh. Over 13 feet across and we are talking lumber not cedar. One of these babies will build an apartment.
A great stop for lunch if you head to Tofino is Wickininish Inn for lunch. Very cool setting 270 degree view of the ocean and great food.
If you head up to Campbell River be sure to go over to Quadra Island check out the Rebeca Spit Park and there is a resort on the Island that is part of a big one in Campbell River. Painted something. Worth the time for sure .
Later....

On the ground in Edmonton for a day or two...made it to Port Alberni and then crashed at a friends in Langley...From their it was through Jasper Park to Edmonton...

did you carry on past Whistler and head for Lillooet or back down to Vancouver?

We carried past Whistler for about 40 minutes past Pemberton, but came across an accident where a drunk driver killed a couple of bikers unfortunately. We were forced to turn around and take the long route back through Vancouver.

It was part of a huge car rally known as the Diamond Rally with 99 Supercars & Luxury vehicles.

Glad to hear the Vettes are making their way along on the highway. It sucks to have been so close to you AllFlash and have not been able to make our schedules work.
We spent some time in Squamish and are now just outside Seatlle. Tomorrow we head back back home and will be doing a stop over in Castlegar.

Hey Graham! Wow, a long time to respond to this one! I didn't really have great cell service while on the trip. Anyway, we came up through Osoyoos and headed east to Castlegar.
If I had my head on straight I would have when through the list of members on the forum to see who I could all visit. A little bit of a rushed trip but still should have made time.

Osoyoos would have been a nice way to go.....
Sorry we missed you.
I might try for Ponoka event next year....Or maybe a Regina Corvette Club event.

Take care pal
Graham
