Every time I get together with a group of like minded people, the question of which dealership will comply with the needs of us, the Corvette/Camaro or GM owner. Many of us have had a poor experience with the service at one dealer or other. I own three GM vehicles and had good success with a local dealership. In the past this dealership was terrible with service, or should I say NO Service. They have since changed a lot of staff and management to try to make necessary changes to have SERVICE. Its a big word. I was there again today with my Corvette and mentioned to Iain Woodger that so many of us have an issue finding a good dealership to have service done at. I explained that we are a meticulous group of people and just want good service and we will pass this on to many. He has been in the business for a while and recognises the need for good service.
I would suggest that Local GM dealership in ST. Albert will deliver. They are defiantly trying to become a dealer to rely on.
This is my opinion

I've heard good things about that dealership as well.
I've had really good service responses and work done at Sher Park. This is before I bought my new Z there. Really did a good job on my Corvettes, H1 and H3. The H1 was a challenge for them but they stepped up and put the right guy on it. Impressed with the results.
Plus every one of our vehicles that goes in comes out washed inside and out. Never on the bill.
Just my service experience but the sale of the new Z was really supported well too. When things went sideways they backed up the play with that new purple Stingray. No questions asked just handed over the fob. Can't really complain about that. :)

I travel 250km to Northgate in Edmonton. Even though I am only in my inclusive oil renew services.
I tried "a couple of Dealers" here in Calgary and had to argue and arm-wrestle for Mobil 1 to eventually get it included without extra cost .... but why the argument?
Call it crazy but I enjoy the cruise to and from Edmonton and will most always make a part of it to visit great CCF members while being there. Win, Win !

We are crazy !! We're going to Edmonton ! Just kidding guys !! Spence's words above are why I want to drive 250 kms for Mobil 1. CCF members being around to meet, shake hands and chat is just bonus.

Not to take any business away from Edmonton but my dealer in Red Deer and their new service manager is Mobil 1 across the board.... doesn't matter what your fill cap says or if you have a Mobil 1 sticker on your forehead or not... No questions asked... so far so good... But only one more freebie change left anyway :(... lol...

That might be worth a look.

I know they have one Corvette specialist for sure but other than an exhaust change up on my C6 a couple years ago, no real mechanical experience with them...

I find it best to know who all will take care of the little and simple things in the beginning without such an effort that some Dealers are making of it.
This way, if/when an event occurs that is not so little and not so simple, the stress of knowing who to go to will not be added to that.
Goes without saying that "May this not happen any time soon" to anyone who reads this (and including its author).

I get my car serviced at Pike Wheaton here in Red Deer, same as Eric. Being an older car, their mechanic has more to look at. LOL. No questions, Mobil 1 was used for the O-change and he pointed out some items to me while the car was on the hoist. No pressure and listened to what I had to say. For mechanical work though I use Hurley Automotive here in Red Deer. One man shop that owns his own fast cars. Al keep all parts changed to show you and give you options on the repair work if there is any. I changed the brake pads but got the wrong rotors in. Al said my rotors were good so leave them on and change out next spring. OK! Did give me all background that the pads would wear a more because they were going against a not-new rotor.

If I were to call both these guys Paul, can I use you as a reference? Maybe Al would be the guy to talk to about my brakes. I'll PM you in the morning.

I put my two cents in on my experience with Sherwood Park Chevy on another thread. That being said there more than likely will be some that say otherwise. I agree 100% with rockitman, a good shop/ mechanic is like that "unicorn" we've all heard of lol. Some of these tuner shops in Edmonton I've heard of seem like they have a lot of hype surrounding them, not to say they're not good. A friend of mine took his c6 z06 into ccmr for a tune and oil change and came out with a $1500 tab. I think that's a bit excessive even taking the "vette tax" into consideration.

Agreed. Its always good to hear about good service and the dealer understanding our needs.
Ron Hodgson came through as the service manager fully understands and goes the extra step in customer satisfaction.
Just my thoughts

While chatting with my regular service tech,he informed me of GMs recommendations to use the synthetic Castrol Edge Professional. It makes sense that oil technology has improved over the 10 years since my C6 has come out and the price is right. For a C6 Z06,an oil change is now $249.00 with Mobil 1. $139.00 with the Castrol Edge.

I saw the list they have under the counter first hand. Didn't want to ask to take a pic as I thought that might be pushing my luck.

It's awesome reading of the many options for respectful Dealer Service. Freda had her first oil renew at Northgate and Ziggy came by for a chat.
Then two spots opened up and Northgate was most accommodating for our "mini show and shine" ... all good with Freda's Service too!

One gentleman coming up to Freda and stating that he really likes "Silver"

and with this one ... is Freda's looking a little more like "White"

... as she and I adapt to this "Sterling Blue" in the fleet ...
Freda is all smiles with it listening to her "Blues" music :headphone:.

You all know people always have their eyes on Ziggy's ...
(Hi Ziggy (and Cindy) :Seeya: and thanks your taking time from your day to chat with us)
