Just got word late yesterday that the ZR1 was finally picked up from the dealership in Oklahoma and is now enroute here to Toronto and then on to Midland. Expect arrival in TO on Monday or Tuesday as he still has 2 more pickups to make on the way home. Hope my knees will be ready to at least get her into the garage. It has been a long wait to get the car home but I am sure it will be worth it.

I"m sure your wait will be well worth it. Hoping the ZR1 has safe travels from the south.....come hell or high water....we know you'll be able to get in her and move it appropriately...even if it is around the block...

Fitzy

Congrats. I'm sure it will be worth the wait. Pics when it arrives please!!!

Pics. will be available but only with someones help as I am not very good with computers.

I'm impressed with our 2005 at 400 hp. I can only imagine another 238 hp on top of that. If I beg really, really hard, would you take me for a ride in your car some time. Please. :)

I bet when you see that Baby sitting in your driveway, you'll find a way to get in 'er and drive it ..... even further than the garage I'm betting !:D

Congrats :canada:

Not sure about 'computers' but I like posting pics Terry -- you have my email.:D

Congrats on the car's movements.......it's getting closer......and excitement is building -- as you can probably tell, we can feel the thrill of that car too. She'll be one awesome automobile......

HOpe the knees are up to the task -- only you know that and whether you'll have to guide someone into the garage for you....

Keep us up on the knees and the car developments.....

Any movement on the '67? Wish I had the do/ray/me.. I'd love it.:D

Cheers,

Colin.

If you love your new toy only half of how much I love mine, your heart beat Will rise so your blood will flow better and your knees will heel faster. You just bought good medicine. Btw, the clutch is pretty smooth for a 638 hp beast, I am sure that you will enjoy it pretty soon.

good news indeed terry. i suspect the same mental rush an injured nascar driver experiences upon climbing into the racecar will overtake you when the new ride appears - you'll do it. :D doug.

Question for anyone else driving a ZR1? I have to take the car to CTC for safety and they will be looking for any method inside the car that will turn off the DRL's. I have gone through the manual and can find nothing that will turn them off (and I do want them on) but I don't want these clowns at CTC messing with the car or cutting wires. Anybody out there with either ZR1 or perhaps a late model C6 that can answer the question? My car is coming from the U.S. and Canada is different as far as DRL's in some cases than many of the states rules.

Terry
If you need me to drive your car from (A) to (B) I can !!!!!!!!! :)

Call the dealer they can do it for you (Get a price first tho )

Good luck
I want to see pics

If I remember right, they can be program at the dealer whit the tech2 scanner and it's not a big deal

Canadian Tire charges A LOT of money to do the DRL conversion despite it being a 5 minute job. Call CT to confirm the price then contact your local dealer to compare. The Tech 2 will do the trick.

Spoke with the local dealer today and they said there is no program to change the DRL's to turn off. CTC better listen when I tell them this otherwise I will have a problem dealing with them. I mentioned the Tech2 to the dealer and they said it will make no difference since to turn off DRl's will cause the ECU to malfunction and will show up on the HUD with an error code etc.

i thought my drl was in the info system on the dash, along with changing the speedo to read metric instead of english, i have an 05 c6 , but it's not a z car

Spoke with GM rep at the Toronto Auto Show as my '13 GS has both side lights and
low beam headlights on whenever engine is on. Colin's '11 GS has only side lights
on when engine is running, Canadian car. [ obviously we're talking daytime here ].
GM guy referred me to their tech centre...1 800, 463-7483. Need to speak to US folks,
as your car, like mine, is first registered in US.
Tech people said to take it to my dealer, have the dealer contact them, and they will
guide the dealer through the change.
First, I would see what lights up when you start the engine in the daylight.
And then take it from there. I'm undecided as to what I shall do; it would certainly
help others to see me with both side and low beam lights on.

Tony,
welland

My car is a US version and I only have side lights on for driving. I don't know who did the inspection but I'm thinking it can't be a big deal to change. Probably up to the owner which way they want it as long as there's at least one set on.
