Hello C7 owners. I have a 2015 z51 with just over 25k on it.
Added some extras over the winter so now she looks much better.
Had an issue where when I start up cold I get a lifter noise which is more prominent on the drivers side. It calms down a bit but never really goes a way. Then it is not shifting correctly either and shutters while holding a steady speed and rpm.
Took it to the largest Corvette dealer in Niagara. I told them about the knock, had a video of it for them to hear it. Then proceeded to tell them about the shifting issue. Told them that I think the trans needed a service. Flush and fluid. Told them I just change engine oil to Amsoil synthetic and also changed the diff oil, new ceramic brake pads and new Pilot tires.
Was told the knocking is related to the trans issue..... wtf, really!! I said. No way, but who am I to argue with the tech. They proceeded to do an inspection. Came back that I needed a trans flush and alignment. $1600 later and still the knock. Shifts great now tho. Wrote a letter to GM explaining my displeasure.

Any ideas on the knock and anyone have a contact who knows there way around these engines?

Thanks, John

I am aware that this is an old trend however, for those reading it now please do not flush transmission. Just replace filter and replace transmission oil. No no no no to flush. (Automatic Transmission)

And why is that? So you’re advice is to not follow the GM TSB? And without a flush you will not get out all of the old oil to replace with the new recommended oil.
