Interesting read. Part of me thinks, what's the point in doing a 4 valve version of the engine because it's obviously good enough with 2 and the other part thinks, let's see what we can do with 4!

These DOHC engines are deadly expensive to rebuild. Valve train times two for starters. Not very compact for number two and under the hood is already full.
I thought that is why GM has been sticking with the in block cam. Lower engine = lower center of gravity = lower hood = better overall performance. Also, I would like to know the weight difference between the 2V and 4V versions.
