Does your wife/husband drive your Vette?

my wife has took mine out when i went to calgary for UFC. she said i make her nervous the first time, because she knows how long i wanted one. so far she's omly had it out twice. @fordperfect, i really like the red interior, with the white exterior.

Despite invites, Kathy has yet to drive the 'vette.

Kind of strange as she did drive the Honda S2000.
And its not the stick shift thats the trouble as the Vibe is manual , as have
been many of our earlier cars.
Maybe its the HP and torque of the 'vette that gives her pause ??
Mind you, I'm more than happy to do the driving !!

Tony,
welland

My wife only likes manual shifts. But she drove the vette only once, and the thing that dives her the jitters is because the back end is too high for a clear view out the back, cause she is 5ft,6 in. Am looking to get a decent back up camera for her. Don't want to get stranded somewhere where we are in a situation where only she is able to drive home.

Since my wife is 5ft6in. she has to sit pretty close to the steering wheel so she can get the clutch on the vette right to the floor. Bought and installed a two inch clutch pedal extender (just made for this c5) , she now drove it for 30 kms on the highway, at night even, ten days ago. Now she is seated comfortably and shifts with ease. Methinks I get more pleasure seeing the smile on her face everytime she gives it a bit of gas and feels the power at her feet than she does driving it.Maybe one of these days I'll wake up and there will be a note on the pillow next to me saying "Gone shopping, and whatever else I can think of doing with the top down".There can be downsides to owning only one vette.

My wife has driven mine a few times to work when her suv is in the shop. Necessity basis only. My 72 year old mother has asked to borrow it on a few occasions and so far I have always managed a feeble excuse.
Reading this reminded me of a game called 'Dealers Choice' introduced back in the 70's that featured an orange corvette convertible on the box. One photo showed the salesman showing a little old lady the vette and a second photo showed the salesman hangin on for his life while the elderly lady did a big smokey burnout in the car lot.
Dave, if you need help with possible excuse scenarios, let us know and I'm certain we'd be only too glad to help.
