I got a call at work yesterday from my wife wondering if there was gas in the Vette. I said yes. Then she wondered if the T-tops were off it. Yes I said. And then I asked why? She was off work yesterday and it was such a nice day, she though she'd go for a drive!

Now she had driven the car a couple of times last year with me in the car but this was the first time she took it out on her own. When I got home from work she said she had a blast driving it! I said good for you!

Now I think I have to share the car... :D

My wife likes to ride in the car, but has no interest in driving it. In fact, she only drives her little Focus because she has to. She often says if she never had to drive again she would be happy.

In your case; I think maybe you should be on the look out for another corvette. His and hers.............

nope, not a chance. as a passenger helen can barely see over the the front end of it. she thinks because the car is old and doesn't have air bags it's unsafe  she's quite content with her rav4. :D

Nope, she can't drive stick.....and has no desire too. She is warming up to the idea of riding in it though. As for my truck....she takes that every chance she can. Like Brian, she too drives a Focus.

My wife says it's too loud, too fast, too low and draws too much attention for her to be comfortable driving it. I'm completely comfortable with this arrangement ...

Mine's fast, low and loud, wife loves it, drives it more often than I do.... Pretty much uses it as her DD in the nice weather....i usually only dive it on the weekends at the track or take it to the boat...she never puts gas in it or washes it though!

My wife, like myself, drives stick shift vehicles including our 2005 Jimmy. We both drive the car but mostly she just likes to ride along and enjoy it. Dale has a couple of girl friends and they have been out with her. Yesterday was our 42nd wedding anniversary and we were to points north and ended up having supper in Peterborough after about 200 miles of driving. Didn't see a single Corvette but did see a bright green new Camaro in Bobcaygeon. I think he was surprised when I waved but he got a quick wave in before passing by. It's nice when both can enjoy the cars.

Good morning,

I let my gf drive it twice but she doesn't seem to show much interest in it. My mom has asked to drive it but she has a bit of a speed problem, she got a ticket once for doing 150 km/hr, in a Nissan Multi mini-van! So I'm sort of cautious about this. Then, and this is something that surprised me, she asked me to go in 50/50 with her to purchase a Mustang, it is even yellow, but the seller is currently waffling about putting it up for sale which I am kind of glad of. Mom now drives a Nissan Frontier with the 4 liter and she gets going plenty fast with that!

Cheers,

Garry

My wife has driven the vette, but only because I have made her. I said she has to know how in case something happens (I have a few too many). However every time she is driving the car (or even in the car) something goes wrong. Usually something little but she just gets frustrated and doesn't really like driving it. We'll see when the rebuild is done she might like it more.

Driving for my wife is point A to point B and that's it. I might as well be driving a roller skate with seat belts.
Cars, mechanical, performance, and speed couldn't be farther from her mind.

I love her -- but not for the car attitudes. It's just as well -- I'm not happy with other people driving my cars, least of all someone who doesn't appreciate fine automobiles.

How's that for a succinct answer.....:D

She has her own car to drive. I really don't care if she takes it out but she states that her car is more her and my car suits me better. :D

My wife loves to drive the Vette. Even though it only has 600km on it.....she will take any opportunity to get behind the wheel. She is a mustang girl at heart.......but is quickly being converted to a vette enthusiast. In fact, she stopped at my office yesterday....flipped me the keys to her Enclave, and said "I'm taking the Vette!" I then asked our 14 year old daughter what she thought of the ride...and she said "mom did a nice squeelie leaving the golf course"...

HAHAHAHA! Too funny! Kids always give you the drop on what REALLY happened.

My wife is a farm girl and can drive a stick better than most men .
She's never shown any interest in driving the Vette, and I'm not going to encourage it . :)

My fiance wants to but doesn't know how to drive manual. My daughter will teach her in a Ford Focus so maybe this year. This worries me as at the Ponoka Meet and GReet she fell in love with Rick's 2008 Blue Z-06. She is joking that I have 2 years to buy it for her birthday, at least I hope she's joking!
My kids on the other hand want to drive it all the time! I let them when I'm in the passenger seat. They both bought manuals as thier first cars just so they would be able to drive the vette. Too much car to let a 17 year old boy have all to himself.

My wife drives the '67 but has not yet driven the ZR1. She is an ex drag racer from our cruising days as well as racing both her own hi perf. mustang and my '67 396 Chevelle at the drag strip. She could and still can handle the 4 speed as good as anyone, including me and I was pretty good back then.
