I had the car for almost 1 yr now, ive always wondered about this scenario.

I sometimes would declutch to rev for a sec when entering a tunnel (car is in motion and in 5th or 6th gear).

Would this hurt the transmission due to engaging to N from 6th or 7th gear, and back 6th gear again?

reason i ask, i did this once, and car became jerky at stop lights for the next few hours. (back to normal next day)

I do it all the time to "wave" to my neighbours as I pass their house. I'm likely in 5th or 6th when I pull both paddles and rev the engine. I usually let the revs die before reengaging, but never give it much of a thought. I don't see how it could hurt.

I don't think the clutch engages until engine RPM matches the transmission speed

also this thread does not belong in the C8 Z06 section as you own and asking about a C8 Stingray
Interesting. That would save clutch wear for sure.
