DIY ceramic coat for a C8 with Avalon King all done

Finally go it all done 2 weeks ago. Took me 7 hrs straight (not including the 3 hrs to polish one pass). Including a rinse down of garage floor, alcohol wipe down and 2X coats.
Each panel took 2.5 minutes to do. Half min to wipe crosshatch , 2 min for flashing and wipe clean, temp at 70 F. Humidy MUST be under 70%( see temp and flash pic).
I used all three of application cloths supplied to apply coating ( most times I used 6-8 drops)and 3X microfiber towels to wipe.
Haven`t washed the C8 yet but will this week with Avalon King Car shampoo. But you can use any good car wash with NO wax.
Might even use a topper later.
I can see why you could be paying $1500-2500 to get it done.



Note vinyl 3M 1080 on nacelles, nice gloss and smooth and ppf on headlights nice gloss and smooth too.
It will be a while before I do this again.

The longer you leave ceramic before first wash the better, usually recommend about 1 week

I did my Titan truck, rAce car, BMW Z4, and two Audis.
I liked the results and the cost.
But you are right, it is labour intensive....

I have the Avalon kit as well, but have not had the time to do it, but have driven the car to get to the 1K km mark. Had the front end and rockers Xpel'd. Hope to find the time in a week or so to apply the Ceramic. Hope the humidity breaks .

Looks awesome Larry. Great job. I will be taking this on in the next few weeks. I have AC in the garage so I should be able to control temp and humidity. My C8 is booked in for Xpel ppf next week.
