Is there a difference in the clutch cross shaft between a big block and small block in a 65-67 Corvette? I was installing the clutch cross shaft in my big block Corvette and it hits the cast iron exhaust manifold so I am thinking the big block uses a different cross shaft from the small block. Is this correct?

So don't take this as gospel (I am not a C2 expert) but:

I believe there are 3 different clutch cross shafts. I am not sure what the differences are.

A: Fits 1965 - 396CI and 1966 427 CI
B: Fits 1966-1967 327CI, 1967 427 CI, and ALL C3's
C: Fits 1963-1965 327 CI

Hope this helps.

Yes, it does help if there are different shafts then I probably have the wrong one and thats why it doesn't clear the exhaust. Guess I will be spending more money...☺
