So we know when this went out to dealers? Presumably it went out to ALL dealerships in North America, since it's from "President GM North America"? If so that means Canadian dealerships received it too...

I can name several dealers in Alberta and one in BC selling C8's at over MSRP and asking for WELL over MSRP for the new Z06. It will be super interesting to see if they change their tactics as a result of this letter, especially for those customers (for example) already on a Z06 list that have agreed up-front to pay over MSRP. If this does result in change, people should quickly go to those dealerships (with their likely now-short lists) to get on a list at MSRP.

Thanks for the post Murray!

Must be relatively new since it mentions the EV lineup as well as the Z06

I see the source is from the Corvette Action Center and their publication is dated today so yes it's recent:

I've just emailed my salesperson to find out if his Alberta dealership received the letter. Happily, their dealership always sells at MSRP so they'll be AOK.

NOTHING but keyboard strokes...GM drivel....they will not do s**t even with blatant dealers like the scumbags in Western Canada
Perhaps, but this is a strong warning. It's easy enough to do to remove Corvette or other allocations and reward other dealers with allocations that are desirable.

Just like with overbidding for resale housing right now ... even though money is cheap right now,
I put equal blame on those who agree to pay these premiums that are being asked for.
Business does what Business does ... but I know I would go out of business if consumers refused to buy/pay.
The Canadian Governing Clowns are talking about increasing lending rates to stop this (as high buying-price resale housing is prevalent right now).
So those of us who are not even playing in this ridiculous "game" will be penalized regardless.
Too many think they are above others with these copious outlays ... just saying whether liked or not.
This is really no different than what was experienced with the C7-ZR1 - so not unique to this C8 section.
I heard as well that GM Canadian Dealerships lost many C7-ZR1 allocations because of the actions of a few Dealerships in Canada (both East & West).
It is the primary reason why I do not have a ZR1 in my stable and why many C8-Z06 allocations are likely to be lost.
I refused to pay any C7-ZR1 premium with the integrity for most likely never owning one. I am much better for it and can move on.
Learn from the past as it will otherwise repeat.

There are many reasons why GM prices their vehicles at MSRP ... so they can compete with other manufacturers of like, kind and quality. Selling above MSRP undermines GM's sales approach and frankly, pisses off the customer. The C8 is priced very well for what the customer is getting. Adding another $20,000 or $30,000 brings the price into the realm of higher priced competitors, eg Porsche Cayman or a basic 911, Lotus. Not that they are better cars, just more expensive. Selling above MSRP may sway some buyers away from GM.

This is very true and long term potentially damaging for GM. It undermines their pricing strategy and customer sentiment. I'm sure they can easily reward other dealerships willing not to break rank with allocations. I hope this is a serious warning.
