Dead battery issues

Hey guys, not sure if anyone has ever seen this. My 07 C6 battery died after the car sat for a few weeks. Wasn't surprised. So I unhooked it, put a charger on it for a few days (trickle auto charger). Re hooked it up last night and had no HUD, instrument panel or heater function.

So I thought to check the fuses just for a good time. No issues, but after pulling the fuses now my HUD and panel works again, just not my heater/ac. Has anyone ever had this?

I had read that the inch pound torque on the battery posts is critical to good conductivity in these cars. I think the number was 70 inch pounds. Maybe worth a check. Just a thought.

Try disconnecting the battery again, let it sit for 5 or 10 minutes to reset the computer and reconnect.

Well I left the battery unhooked over night, un hooked the ecu (in the fender) and checked all the fuses. Next step I guess is to pull the climate control unit and see if its getting power. Does anyone on here work at GM or have access to wiring schematics?

My C4 ZR-1 has a constant drain on the battery, if it sits for a week or so it will kill the battery, I keep it on an intelligent charger pretty much all the time now.

Well guys. I talked to one of my gm buddies and he said with the car running to pull the HVAC fuses. Then first installed the 15amp then the 10amp. Sounded crazy to me but it worked!

Isn't that interesting! Odd, the different fixes or methods to fix these cars when a gremlin pops up. Glad you got it fixed!!!

My local mechanic is hooked to the internet in his garage. It costs a couple of hundred dollars a month. If a person comes up with a weird little cure like this one, they can add it to the system so that others can use the tip. A lot of old time mechanics really struggle with this stuff. It makes me cringe just lifting the hood.
