Apparently the severe weather that rolled through the United States Midwest last night and early this morning did damage to the Bowling Green GM Assembly Plant.

Looking for link.

Hope everyone is alright.

The museum sustained minor damage, but the track was harder hit and is closed until further notice.
The museum is currently closed and is without power.
The assembly plant was also spared damage, but did have a small fire.

I guess the concern now is for the workers at the plant and their families. Man the destruction is incredible. Almost fascinating how selective the chaos is.

Hope for the best.

Thanks for the link @Murray20c8.

This today from CorvetteBlogger/UAW confirming the not-surprising news that the Bowling Green plant will likely be shut down Monday. Sincere best wishes from Canada to all those affected by this terrible tornado which at 237 miles is apparently the longest consecutive ground contact tornado in history.

Found this on the other forum, video on FB BGA footage around 5min mark.

Crazy the damage caused by this. Remember in our neck of the woods the high winds we got yesterday is part of this system that ravaged those areas so we are so lucky to not have the devastation they got. Yeah, we might have some trees down, power lines down, shingles coming off our homes but in the grand scheme of things we are lucky to live where we are.

Wind was brutal here yesterday afternoon, still no power.

Cannot imagine what those people went through. Can only hope for the best.

Don't think I have ever seen a storm like yesterday in the 40 years we have been here. The property is littered with tree branches. Power is still off, no idea when it will be back on.

Wood stove and generator humming along.

Nothing compared to the US Midwest.

Was that in Ontario?
Yes. southern Ontario any way.

Power up yet?
I just got back from hockey and had to swerve from fallen branches etc. still. You'd think the people who lived on the road would pick them up.

Confirmed with a bit more detail:

I'd bet dollars to donuts that the fire is only part of the reason. The employees almost certainly live in the area and were affected in many ways. One with all the power outages and trees down etc. They must take care of their own issues before needing to start back to work. As happened here, strong winds likely caused much damage to the areas not affected by tornadoes
