My dealer (in Calgary) suggested a month, from the build week, before I can expect to pick up the car. So that includes the dealer PDI (pre-delivery inspection work) which can take about a day, depending upon the dealer installed options chosen. As indicated by Johnymax, that assumes there's no QC issues at Bowling Green after the car has been made, which could hold up the process. Or QC issues the dealer catches and has to deal with; likely none but things can happen during transportation. Then Bowling Green has to wait to fill up a transport that's coming to your area but hopefully they've sequenced production to roll off enough cars to do that, which looks to be their pattern. So there's a few moving parts that might affect the timing.

Sounds like l got screwed
I would not say that you were screwed. I would say that you went to a large high profile "vette specialist" dealer that while they may have the biggest allocation number, they also have the biggest line up of past and loyal Customers ahead of you. I have no doubt that they had a deposit line up for years and also a huge influx from July 2019 after the reveal of the C8 when everyone saw it for the first time and pricing was announced. When you put your deposit down, it was before the strike and before the COVID shutdown and the dealership likely expected to get allocations based on what they sold in 2019. If this was a big number then they expected a big number of allocations in 2020. I have no doubt that they have had their allocations cut significantly and you are simply down the list. It sucks and its frustrating for those still waiting for their cars but not sure you should direct the anger to the dealer or salesman. The landscape changed mid course for them. Some of the smaller dealers or just less invested in the vette still get allocations based on past performance of sales and may have had smaller lineups. Such was my case. I knew exactly where I fell in the line and what the dealer was getting in cars. I was fortunate to have my order get picked up in January 2020 as a firm order in their second wave of 6 cars. If your Dealer cannot tell you EXACTLY how many orders are on the list ahead of you and also how many cars they are expecting, then that is a problem. That should not happen and if that was my case, I would move on to another dealer.

Well said ABC and I totally agree.

I went with a small dealership, gave them my deposit Nov 27, 2019. They had 2 allocations for the first half, I was #3 on their list. My order was accepted in February and I moved to event status 3000 on February 20, 2020.
I did originally contact the big volume dealers, but they did not provide me the information that I was looking for in regards to their Allotment numbers and how many deposits they had ahead of me. They all said "we receive the highest number of allotments in Canada" they never did provide me with a number.

If it wasn't for all the information that Is posted on these forums, I would not be getting a 2020 and I would not have any idea of my status. I thank you all for that. Good luck, perhaps not a bad idea to get another refundable deposit in play to give you some insurance. Good luck.

I didn't know the process for allocations/TPW's etc.. till I joined CCF. I got lucky as this is my local dealer 1km down the road with no others within hours of me.Not sure if this would be practical for GM but it would be nice if everyone was to pre order with them like Tesla and Ford does it also with the new Bronco so when you put your deposit that is the order you get the car.I too believe that I shouldn't get a C8 months before someone had a deposit before me still is stuck at 3000 or worse 1100 with no car in sight. My 2c

Mark there is many guys feeling "screwed" because of the system, i had a guy jump in front of me in line that is driving his car for months because he is a " big spender" and my dealers incompetence. Thought 1LT's were on constraint in first round of allocation which it wasn't.

Sad that guys who ordered yellow, rapid blue, zeus etc... and HTC are waiting so long I could go on and on....

I was told (unsubstantiated) back in December that a major dealer in Ont. had already taken over 200 customer deposits. Even without Covid coming down the pipes, I wonder if they informed the customers at that time that their chance of receiving a 2020 may be slim to none. In the C7 inaugural 2014 year, of 37,000 plus made, only 1100 plus came to Canada. I wonder how many that dealer received then and how many, prior to Covid, he actually expected to receive this year.

To be expected, there is a lot of frustration when a new Corvette comes out. It was the same thing when the C7 came out. A lot of frustrated buyers with long wait times and a lack of communication between the dealers and customers. The same is going to happen again when the Z06 comes out. It's just part of the process and the only reason why I am glad I can't afford a Corvette as it would stress me out trying to find one, then all the waiting!

When I placed a deposit with the three largest dealers in Ontario, only one would give me a straight answer as to where I sat on their deposit list.
That was Eric at Bill Spencer Chevrolet.
Very happy that I stayed with them and not the others. When my allocation came up in March with Eric, I asked the other two dealers again where I was on their list and never got a answer. I did get my deposit returned from both of those dealers, but it did take a bit of time.

No way you should need to put multiple deposits down, I see why but it it because of a flawed system also so many bad dealers taking double the amount of deposits for the allocations they have. My dealer will receive 4 2020's and have 6 others at 1100

Thanks Concierge .... for nothing!

"Thank you for your patience while we looked into the status of your vehicle order. Currently your vehicle has a tentative build week of July 27th. We would recommend speaking with your dealership for status information. Please feel free to check back in with us in 2 weeks to see if there are any further updates."
