I believe this is just "a kick in the arse" to get talks going again. I think a local strike would need the National union's ok before proceeding. Local issues would have to be pretty bad for them to do that... so?They have worked for a long time without a contract but not looking good:

Yes, that means GM has now promised to build it. That could still take a few months though. Likely closer to 2, but could be 6 weeks. Fingers crossed for you it's quickMy dealer called me Monday and said my car got accepted by GM . It is at 2000 , what ever that means and he should have a build date within two weeks.
