Good Morning Everyone! August is here which means Cruise Weekend is right around the corner! This date for this years show is Sunday, August 19th. Some notes about the show from Rock 102: "Club cars must be parked by 9:00 am in order to guarantee your spot. We open the gates for all participants at 9:00 am and fill in the holes that have not been filled by car clubs. The show runs from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. All cars must stay in place until 5:00 pm as it is not safe to move vehicles with so many pedestrians around. If a car club allows one of their cars to leave before 5:00 pm, they will not be invited to participate next year and their prime location will be given to other participants." I have spoken with Rock 102 and requested our old spot on the north side of 3rd Avenue and 21st Street, on the west side of 3rd Avenue. I have not yet been provided with a map but will update the members with one once it has been provided. I have requested 18 spots and each year we fill them up so please RSVP me if you plan on attending and we will hold one for you. Also, I will be downtown early to hold the spots and would appreciate it if someone else would volunteer to assist in holding the spots. They state 9am is the cutoff but people start parking as soon as 7am and if people park in our reserved spot, there is nothing that can be done to make them move (Outside of nicely asking). Other items to note are to bring water and a chair. For those not familiar with the weekend, there will be a lot of cars on 8th street both Friday night and Saturday night. I encourage everyone to get to 8th street and experience this. The show usually hosts 800+ cars, all of which are to be 30 years old (outside of club cars, which can be newer) and a lot of cars are on 8th street these nights. There is also a Poker Run Saturday for anyone interested. For additional information, please email myself, or you can go to Rock102's website www.rock102rocks.com for the latest updates. I hope to see you all out!
