I live in a rural area and have VERY limited internet and TV options.
We have NO cable, NO Fiber and not even a good Phone line.
According to "Start TV" And I'm sure they are right, the CRTC regulations won't allow any provider to sell TV without that providers Internet. And of course I have no choice, but to use one of 4 or 5 internet providers.
Rogers only provides Cellular Internet again. Been there, done that. Not good enough

Bell 5G using special antenna and fibe router. (current provider) Only Satellite TV

Vianet I already had test here. They may have added service, but didn't work before. I'll try them again. They have TV now.

Explore (AKA Xplorenet) Been there, done that. Liars and cheaters. After the first month they choked our service and fine print in the "acceptable Usage Policy", cost 1 years $ to get out of it.

StarLink No TV.

Anyone know of others?

Check out “ Ghostware “ Android box . You name it…..around $200 with support and fairly frequent firmware updates etc . And no subscription fees as well. If you have decent internet you’re in business , I would think that Star Link would be adaquate .And ya the CRTC should go the way of the Dodo or at least be completely revamped. Don’t mention the CBC or Canada Post for god’s sake, lol .

Not sure what you're saying Murray. You can't have internet and tv from 2 different suppliers?

Starlink doesn't offer tv. Ghostware needs to be continuously updated. Been there, don't need the hassle. Want legal.
Fubo TV is great, but they only offer "Stack TV". If they ever add the other channels like CTV and CITY etc. Fubo has commercial skip on cloud recordings and you can record almost all of their content.

I have Internet and tv from Bell, but I'm tired of paying $75.00 for standard def tv that I never watch. I'm limited to my Internet choices. I have 4 only. So, now I'm forced to continue with Bell or move off Bell Satellite and their internet. Seems CRTC doesn't allow internet providers to offer stand alone tv services.
So, I'd like to keep my bell internet and find another tv service that has cloud PVR with commercial skip and all the channels. I feel like I should start one! LOL

Ghostware doesn’t need to be continuously updated at all and when it is it’s done over the internet by connecting to their servers. Mine wasn’t updated for over six months at one time with no issues. And as for legality it’s still a “ grey area “ situation. The only issue I have ever encountered would be finding a decent resolution stream for something that was very new or recently added . How long ago was it that you had a box ?

DId I say it has to be good over 5 tv's shared etc. etc. I don't want a box. I want a service.

Apollo TV (on a firestick) is what I use for TV , with any internet will work.

Unsure of the question or if this even helps … but been using this for 1.5 years successfully for a gazillion iptv channels
I get about 100 or more IPTV channels free on my LG Oled tv which is pretty cool. Even has a tile type interface now much like Netflix and the other similar services. And there are other similar apps you can download and although they are add supported, they are also free . All you need is an internut connection.

Ya, it looks cool. Does it have pause and commercial skip? I don't see any DVR mentioned either.

No PVR included but take a look at this. I haven’t checked it out, my daughter mentioned it.
Have you considered YouTube TV ? Lots available on there. About $70.00 a month I think.

Ya, I tried a MyGica with an antenna and I couldn't even get one lousy channel. My neighbour 4 properties down gets 45 OTA channels with it!! Well, not always. Weather changes things for him. He must be in some sort of weird bubble where he gets signal bounce off the atmosphere.
Amazon sells several receivers for this stuff.

What site did you sign up with? Seems to be several "resellers" or something.
