Corvette Winter Storage Thread....

And every Oct for the past 13 years this thread comes back from the dead :Woohoo:
... and it will for the next 13+ years. It is a needed discussion and reinforcement of the car storage concepts. But for those who know me on this forum and to borrow a few words from Dickens - it is a far, far better thing I do - by driving my baby all winter with proper tires. ❄️🌨️:snowplough:

Well I dont think much has changed since the previous 362 posts but some people have crazy ideas about what they think they need to do! Am surprised no one has suggested that you must sacrifice a live chicken and dribble blood around your storage area to prevent the car from disintegrating..
Haven't done that yet. May give it a try. LOL
I prefer to go to St. Hubert (Swiss Chalet) for my chicken though

What do you mean “floating type charger”?
They are a battery maintainer. A maintainer or also called a battery tender have an internal float switch that charges your battery ONLY when the voltage drops. As soon as the battery reaches it's full charge level, the float switch shuts the charge off. Thus, your battery never overcharges. I have 5 of them of different makes, and on various equipment around my farm including my Vette) and have never had an issue with any of them. Anywhere from $39.95 to over $200.00 for them and other than lots of pretty lights and functions on the expensive ones that I never use, they all do exactly the same job, do it well, and last just as long.
