No, no not the Corvette but an off topic truck. In the old days they called it steam cleaning the motor. Then chemicals in spray can washing it off with a hose.

So my question is how do you clean a modern engine compartment with more electronics than a kitchen fridge. Well maybe close.
 
Check all your caps to make sure they are closed, use a degreaser and hit with pressure washer. Obviously be careful of fuse boxes, etc but new cars are way easier to clean under the hood than older ones.
If I were to use a pressure washer I would have it on a spray pattern and make sure it was far enough back to have less force when it comes in contact with whatever, more spray than jet. You only want to rinse, not blast. Natural common sense is to be careful around the electronic components (alternator, fuse boxes, etc). As mentioned in another tag, common sense is not all that common.
