Just came across this from Driving.ca
The guy did finally get paid but only after Global news made a story out of it.
We'll have to read our insurance contracts as, in theory, changing the style of lights could nullify your insurance.
It's all in the small print. Maybe phone up your insurance company before doing even the smallest mod.
Hope my changing the carpets and licence plate holder don't cancel mine. LOL

Been writing about this Insurance small print thing & warning for quite some time now.
One of my threads is probably somewhere deep in the dungeon of CCF.

Originally discovered this when reinstating Corvette coverage a few years back.
Answered the common question now of whether anything is after-market modified.

I was just beside myself when an adjuster was checking a back quarter
no fault hit&run dent on my Truck and the first thing he did was
took a photo of my engine bay.
Dance around all one wants to .. as it may only bite when making a claim.

Worry would be losing all coverage due to small print in an at-fault injury accident.
I heard a story about a court challenge with a defendant having an excessively cracked windshield
knowing impairing driver's view - and being defeated as a result.

It is real good to post warnings about this on CCF ... just so that everyone knows.

Exactly … all you have to be smart about as a consumer … is watching were lawyers are on staff. Too many pay for things without asking questions.
