You may or may not have realised but many of our thread posts have been slowly becoming more real time over the last little while.

As of today I'm happy to announce that you should be able to see ALL (almost) updates in realtime on our forums. This means new threads in all forums as well as the What's New Page will appear instantaneously without you having to refresh as soon as they are posted.

This is guaranteed to make you happier, younger and give you an extra 5 years of life that you would've spent hitting F5/refresh it has been said. You are welcome. :D:rolleyes:

Because of this I will remove the auto refresh on the What's New page as it's no longer relevant.

If you have issues do let me know here. Currently labelled as a Beta feature.

I don't understand why it's not relevant. How can I see what's new when I'm not following a forum? Are alerts watching every post in every forum on here?

I'm referring to the feature that auto refreshes the what's new page every 60 seconds by default. That's not relevant as new content pops up instantly rendering a refresh irrelevant.

I know what you meant. It doesn't pop up new stuff, for me, when I sit on the what's new page. I only see alerts change.

That shows everything that is recent. Is that the page you were referring to? That would work but it also shows everything I've read as well. It could get confusing if I don't read everything in order.
Edit: Actually it doesn't work either.

It works, just retested it.

I'll move it to What's New/New Posts also soon. For now it's on Recent Posts as well as the index of all forums and new posts within threads (which has been there for a while now).

This should now be working for What's New->Recent Posts as well as What's New->New Posts.

There's a little animation when new content gets pushed too.

Remember it will only notify/update on threads/posts that you are eligible to view i.e. it won't be triggered by threads in certain forums that are filtered out.

STILL doesn't work for me. Only after the 60 second refresh does it show anything new.

OK guys, how are you testing this ?

Here's what should happen when you get a new post in What's new...

To actually test this you can open a separate browser and post as a different user (your own posts won't make it to New Posts).

Here's another demo.... Again, if no one posts nothing will change.

Under the “ new posts “ heading, mine refreshes every 30 seconds which is the lowest of the refresh options available. This is what it’s supposed to do is it not ?
