Canadian ZR1 Pricing

This pricing is fair compared to USD MSRP but luxury tax might be a huge loss with a new federal party coming soon
I know PP has heaped scorn on the lux tax but I'll wager a donation to this forum that he will not do away with the lux tax. Politicians of all stripes are great at telling us what we want to hear when they have no power but they change the minute they are in power.

Dealers still have to be given an allocation to order one and some dealers still won't get one even after multiple model years this time.
A dealer can take and submit an order but it is worthless until an allocation is matched to the input order.
Sadly many people who are new to the in "high demand, low supply" car world don't realize how the allocation system works. I spoke to someone a few months ago who was planning on ordering a new Z06 and wanted to place the order through his mid size local dealer. He has owned several Corvettes in the past but only used ones. I suggested that he ask the sales manager how many Corvettes they had sold over the past two years and recommended that he not place an order until he found a dealer who had sold at least 80-90 Corvettes in the past two years. I explained how the allocation system works and how important past sales volumes are to the allocation process.

You don't need to sell 80-90 corvettes over two years to get a Z06 these days. Dealers who sell 6-8 corvettes a year currently have a Z06 in inventory you can buy right now. Its very easy to order a new Z06, even from a small dealer. Yes they have to wait for an allocation but if the dealer is local and hes not a rush they will get one. If they want one sooner rather than later the large dealers should have no issue ordering one quickly.

The whole vetting process really only matters when supply is limited and demand is high, thats not the case anymore except for the ZR1. At this point you should be able to get any C8 except a ZR1 from almost any dealer without a lot of issues.

@Exia I agree on the Z06...have been dealing with a local small dealership in Ontario that sells 6-8 Corvettes a year. Finally received a call in the Fall of 2024 that they had allocation and I could get a Z06. Finally, it has normalized and the allocation game is over. I am sure the same thing will happen to the ZR1 in due course. And by then there will of course probably be the Zora to take the spotlight off the ZR1.
