CTC also has a cool looking low profile 1.5 ton low profile jack on at $99.00 and that folks is $100.00 off. Almost free! Part Number 09-0010-8 - 3.5" to 14.75" range. I think that would work on our cars.

I'm not sure 3.5" is good for us.. It will just fit under my jacking pucks.(4")
Here is a jack that ranges from 2.75" and has extended reach.

This jack normally sells for $299 but sometimes goes on sale for $199...
The extended reach is good for getting under from the front and rear of the car.

The oil is a good price.

Graham thanks for highlighting the alternative jack. I have a low profile jack very similar to the one one sale at CTC this week but I don't recall how low it goes. I will have to measure it. It says Michelin on it but I did get it at CTC.

The length of the other jack could come in very handy. I wonder if you can get it with different numbers on it?

Well I stopped into Canadian Tire this morning to get some much needed Mobil 1. It turns out CTC actually had two specials on for Mobile 1 this week. $31.99 for a jug of 5W 30 (4.4 litres), good deal but as Keith points out quite an increase in price from a year ago.

The other "deal" they had was a jug of 5W 30 plus a bonus I litre bottle of 5W 30 for $65.99. Well I was never a wiz at math but something tells me that CTC should not have two Mobil 1 specials the same week.

So for $64.00 I can get 8.8 litres of oil or for $65.00 I can get 5.4 litres of the same thing. Why am I having trouble with the return on investment on this deal?

Hahaha. Quite the deal! Did you go with the extra 1 liter of oil? I think the jug plus 1 free liter of oil is a much better deal because you get free oil! The other jugs that are on sale, you have to pay for all the oil.

Pretty interesting looking at the jugs of motor oil. Quite a few are still at 5L but Mobile 1 seem to classify a "jug" as anywhere from 4L to 4.4L for the same price. Other companies classify their jugs as 4.73L which makes sense as it's 5 quarts.

CanTire has a sale starting on Friday(Oct 9th) selling MOBIL1 (4.4L + bonus 1L) for $32.89.
That is usually the best deal and the one I wait for.
