C8 Christmas Gifts

I finally fell asleep on Christmas Eve waiting for Santa so missed having my annual Christmas conversation with him. Good thing since I received zero C8 gifts so the old fellow didn’t have to explain how I wound up on the C8 Naughty List (sigh). I’m left with no choice but to buy everything I want that’s Corvette-related this upcoming year, including a new ZO6 assuming GM doesn’t have access to the Naughty List. Here’s hoping, lol.

Happy New Year to all!

Santa Claus brought me a really nice 1/18 diecast from GT Spirit

Granddaughters bought me this diecast replica from Maisto

but after several trips to the garage, decided it did not look like the car so about 2 hours later they had it modified:
wing gone, stripes gone, chrome wheels.

now waiting for second coat of paint. (Don't worry I asked them not to modify the actual car)

View attachment 91145Santa dropped off this beauty, it's a 2021 HTC Z51 by GT Spirt, great detail.

I see that your Stingray emblem is black... but mine as black corvette written in the back with silver Stingray which is inconsistent... I wonder if it's an error only on mine or if like that with all of them?

Was the wing screwed on or glued? That is one reason why I don't buy a diecast as they are all Z51's

You got the optional; stingray emblem. ;)

They tell me the wing was plastic so after trying to pull it off they just cut it with scissors and it looks like it may have been just popped in through tiny holes. They filled the holes with a drop of paint. To cover the racing stripes, they used the rapid blue touch up paint I had bought for my fuel cover problem and they had metallic silver paint for the rims.
