C7 GS to C8

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and a brand new C8 corvette owner! Couldn't be more excited! Unfortunately I just took possession of the car so I didn't get a chance to drive it at all and now I'll have to look at it in the garage for a few months before I get to enjoy it. I had to wait for over two years for the car to come in so I have watched endless videos on the C8 but also the C7 in that time. Although I love the C8, financially my plan was to drive it for a couple years and then sell it because I'm not in a position where I can afford to keep a car of that value. The C8s being so strong for resale right now I'm thinking maybe I can trade for a C7 that I could actually afford to keep. I'm curious to know what dealers are offering you folks on C7 Grandsports and Z06s on trade for a C8. I've seen a few at dealerships but the prices are not super attractive... Any idea what a "good" deal would be for either one? I'd only be looking for a Manual, 2LT min, Coupe.

I was given $75k trade in value for my 2019 well equipped GS about 18 months ago. Traded in on a 2022 loaded 2LT, HTC which I purchased at MSRP - around $110k. Dealer took possession of my 2019 GS when I placed my order for the C8 as it was August and good selling time. New C8 arrived the following May of 2022. Deal involved a bit of paperwork as they gave me a check for the $75k when I delivered my car to them in August. Then when the new car arrived following May I gave them $75k back plus the difference for the new C8 and they wrote it up as a trade in thus saving considerable tax. One hitch i discovered is that the new car must be delivered within 12 months of the trade in being given to the dealer in order to qualify for the sales tax credit. What most dealers will do is place your car on the online wholesale auction site for dealers and see what the bids are and give you a trade in value based on what the bids are. Know of another person who traded another 2019 GS in on a C8 about the same time and he got very similar $$.

I think you could trade your C7 for a C8 for a very good price, I think you need to do it as soon as possible because it costs a lot of money to maintain the C8. If you managed to make an exchange, write about it here, if it's not hard for you. I am also a beginner and I was going to buy C7
