C7 AC Issue

Hoping I can get some advice on this issue.
AC blows cold and strong but will not switch to different Modes.
Regardless of which button is pressed, Cold Air will only come out of the Vent by the Windscreen and Floor.

Not sure if this is any value to you but will post anyway...

When the indicator light is on, the air conditioner runs automatically to cool the air inside the vehicle or to dry the air as needed to defog the windshield faster.

Sensors The interior cabin air temperature and solar sensor on top of the instrument panel near the
windshield monitors the solar heat and measures the initial interior cabin temperature. The climate control system uses the sensor information to adjust the temperature, fan speed, recirculation, and air delivery mode for best comfort. The humidity and windshield temperature sensor is on the windshield glass inside surface near the rearview mirror. The automatic climate control system uses this sensor to receive information to determine the need for defogging. If any of these sensors are blocked or covered, the automatic climate control system may not work properly.
 
It's not that new roof, is it?
Has anyone been behind the dash doing anything?
Could be a wire / hose has come off back that controls the switching between vent, def, floor?

“Axe”, it has nothing to do with the Roof 🙂. BTW, the Wife loves the Roof so I got her blessings as a great buy 🙂.

“Ruff “, this issue was found during the Pre Inspection before I purchased the Car. It was noted on the Agreement of Sale and the Dealership will cover the Cost of the repair.

They diagnosed it as the AC Blower Motor but I am somewhat doubtful of it since the Fan Speed works perfectly.

I have to take it in Tomorrow, will update this post for anyone who may experience it in the future.

I just wanted some opinions on what it could possibly be.

I don't even know what runs the ventilation doors anymore on these cars. Used to be vacuum controlled but doubt they are on the C7. A vacuum leak in the line back to the vents would have been my guess 50 years ago... :rofl:
 
Wow ... commenting so that I get a thread update message
for my info-retention-sponge within my skull.
I was speculating with simplicity toward the use of the "Auto" setting
however as the fan selector is being used and appears OK,
that would not be it. Other than just blaming my Navigator thinking now a faulty
"computerized chip module gizmo thingy what-not of some sort"
that requires swapping out and perhaps it can be
a part of the blower motor assembly resolve.
Good Fortune for a remedy is being hoped for ...
and thank you in advance for if you can post a happy epilogue.

These newer vehicles all use a variety of stepper motors to open and close various vents and ducts. Hopefully it ends up being a reasonably easy repair without the entire disassembly of the dash.

I sure hope so but from what I was told it seems more likely that the Dash has to be disassembled.
Of course this could potentially cause further issues that I am somewhat concerned about.

Honestly, I can live with Air not coming out of the Dashboard Vent.

The information I have so far is that the C7 has Two Motors and one of them is not working. The Part has been Ordered and should be in Tomorrow, repair will be more than a day.
 
Update .... the Dealership called me on Tuesday to confirm the Appointment on Wednesday.
Took the Car there , they had the Paperwork all prepared but as I was about to leave they called me back and said “Our apologies , the Part required to fix your Car did not arrive and will be delayed for 20 Days “.

I have an Email trail where they not only confirmed the appointment but also that the Part was there.
 
i had a problem like that when i picked up my Z06 new only blowing cold air! if the blower is blowing on all speeds then its not the blower motor! they ad to reflash the hvac pcm! problem solved

I am getting heat and AC and the Fan functions perfectly. The issue is airflow is only from the Defrost and Floor Vents, no airflow from the Dashboard Vents regardless of which Direction button is selected in either Auto or Manual Mode.
 
it defaults to defrost if there is a problem! could also be the blend door motor not working! I'm in mississauga if you need a hand i would be glad to help! i have a bidirectional scan tool so i scan hvac and test motors in hvac to see if there working! would be glad to help another forum member out! dealers suck!

I will hold off for a bit since this is something that they are supposed to address at their Cost as part of the Sale.

Wouldn’t want to let them off the hook that easy.

Really happy to know that I have an alternative though, thank you again.

It's the door mode actuator.
