I'm willing to bet all you C6 guys know of this little nugget, but just in case... A friend of mine showed me this a few years ago on his C6 and I just tripped over it again at Jay Leno's Garage. Here's the clip..

the c6 coupe has the same dual mode exhaust. Pretty positive it works the exact same way. You could always just pull the fuse and see . Shouldn't hurt anything!!
