C6 Antifreeze leak question

a friend of mine has an antifreeze leak on her 2005 coming from the area at the rear of the engine about where the distributer would have been on the old V8's is this a common problem and what's the fix?

That does not sound good , could be head gasket, but check the two lines that run back for the heater on the passenger side .

that's how it started on my old'er L98... thought it was an intake manifold gasket but sure enough it was a head gasket...
