hey friends, newbie here.

I have a '88 C4 with the factory Ac delco-bose stereo system however only one speaker works faintly. the head unit works beautifully however.
is it possible to have the factory radio head with aftermarket speakers? I've heard a few things that say its not possible because of the speaker setup. is this true?

your speakers have individual, proprietary, mini amps, at each speaker itself.

you can buy replacement amps for them and swap them easily. well....the front door speakers are a process to get to but there are two youtube vids demonstrating the process.

there is a guy in calgary/airdrie who sells the replacement amps for $100 each. he advertises on kijiji.

Alternatively if u r good with soldering, you can simply replace the capacitors that go bad yourself.

Also note, there is a kit offered that ties into the factory head unit, that allows you to run an aux-in port. I did that on my 87 and plugged an “mpow” bluetooth gateway into said aux port and voila i had streaming bluetooth and handsfree calling in my 87 👍
