Hi.. Just wondering if anyone here has tried a 6 link suspension kit from Dragvette ? The kit is designed to keep the wheels flat to the road and prevent damage from broken "U" joints when drag racing. I am ordering one this week instead of building one(never enough time).

i've looked at them, but i think it depends on your power output. might need beefier halfshafts. for massive power and hard launching a c3, backhalfing the car is the way to go.

I'm not running much more than 425 out of a tuned port injected 383 through a built 700r4 and I still love the independent suspension. I do the 1/8th mile drags(down to 8.25 sec) every summer and I have seen the damage that a broken half shaft "u" joint can do. This seems like a way keep the suspension and limit the damage that can be caused. I haven't broken one yet and I am putting in the Spicer heavy duty "u" joints next weekend but a little insurance would be nice. just looking for feedback from someone who has tried it.

from what i've seen and heard and researched, that set up should work just fine on your car. as insurance i'd want to use larger half shafts though. what is the rear gear ?

I think it is a 3.07 ,, I had it written down but my organizational skills seem to be lacking:) Shifts into 3rd just before the end of the 1/8th mile strip at about 82 mph. I have seen pix of the half shafts twisting up ... hoping that mine won't go out that way... But anything can happen drag racing. The larger half shafts would be great but they will have to wait until next year:D

Six link worked out great.. easy to install and great hook up at the track.. knocked almost a tenth of a second off my times..got down to 8.17 at the 1/8th mile. best of all I didn't break anything.. now if I can only quit Red lighting.

good news !!! a gear change from the 3.08's down to 3.55 would shave that et some more and shouldn't hurt fuel mileage too badly. how much wheelspin are you getting ? remember that a smoky burnoui with street tires will hurt your et. it sounds like you're having a ball and that's the main goal. we have a saying in the crowd i run with.......live by the light - die by the light. :D

I threw some 15 by 10" circle track slicks on it so I wasn't getting much spin. They stuck out of the fenders quite a bit though.. needed a good wash job afterward:) Might do the gear swap this winter if I have time. Have to watch I don't get my times down too far though, under 8 sec and I will have to go into the pro class :)

Very nice wo909! Do you have any pics of the six link? Glad to hear it is working out well for you.

I have been trying to post pix for a while but the site wont let me post pix to new albums .. the site also lost the pix from one album. I have sent mail to the site administrators but haven't gotten a reply.

Not sure what the deal is with the Album. You can attach or link pictures into the thread if you like until I get it figured out. For some reason, some people have issues with the Albums and others don't. Since all the memberships are the same, it's tough to pinpoint the issue...

Just some pix of the Six link..hope they turn out.:)
