Broke plastic elbow for stove pipe from exhaust.

Is it possible to plug or cap the stove pipe that pumps exhaust back into the engine? I was thinking it would run a little cooler and possibly gain a tiny bit of horsepower. Is there an aftermarket cap or plug or should I just try and jimmy rig it.

are you talking the egr system?

Only thing that pump exhaust to the engine is the egr, are you shure you are not talking about the air pump?

I just decided to order a new elbow instead of trying to mess with it.
