So when should I start replacing my brakes and or rotors? What mileage?

I’m currently at 23K miles and noticed my pads are starting to squeak when I first drive around but tends to go away after 5 minutes. I feel like pads should last me between 20-30K miles anyway. However do I need to replace the rotors as well? I always heard that as long you replace your pads early and not till they start grinding on the rotors, you don’t need to replace them.

What are your thoughts?

I remember “they” used to say replace rotors when replacing pads due to growing and general wear.
I do not believe that to be the case any longer, depending on your braking history and use.
Pull the wheel off to get a good look at the rotor before you pay to replace.
New pads can never hurt.

I'm at 91000+ km's. I was surprised they are still within tolerance's. Just had checked 2 weeks ago...
Ya, I usually check pads when I change tires. I'd be surprised there'd be any significant change at 21K
