Visited the Corvette Plant in Bowling Green this past week. Our tour lasted 70 minutes, and was unbelievable.
You see the assembly process pretty much from start to finish, including some of the "after" tests. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about C7's in general, and the building/testing process. I actually couldn't believe that they would show as much as they did. About 40% of the cars on the line were ZO6's. 40% Z51's, and of course Coupes. Interesting that all models are made at once, on the same line, in random order, and we saw the remaining 8 colours on the line as well. (Laguna Blue and Shark Gray were still in production).

Then we crossed over to the museum for the self-guided tour. Of course, being honest, the gift shop was the highlight for me... a lot of the merch you see on various on-line sites is available there, at the same prices. My wife had to remind me several times that "we are on a budget dear.... we have to eat during the rest of the trip". But I still escaped with a ton of stuff.

And yes it's true.. if you give them your VIN, they will tell you the actual birthdate of your Vette.

We combined the day with our trip to Nashville.... Bowling Green is 1 hr from there.

Both tours are extremely highly recommended.

My wife and I have been twice now. It's such a great experience. Even with my wife and I having a background in being auto workers, it's really cool to see the similarities and differences in the manufacturing process. Now, that I've made a career change it might mean a little bit more. The museum is an enjoyable experience as well. The gift shop has has killer clearance deals as well.
Nice to hear that you enjoyed your time at the Bowling Green plant. Did you drive your Vette down there?
