Just a quick offtopic life browser hack for those of you a little bothered by the constant barrage of ads on many sites. I was browsing another forum just now without the below installed for the first time and it was a little scary.
There are a million ways to reduce your exposure to nasty ads and ad tracking malware but for those that want a couple of simple solutions my personal recos are below:
1. Ublock Origin Browser Extension - Free open source ad blocker for any website that runs naughty ads - uBlock Origin - Free, open-source ad content blocker. (https://ublockorigin.com/) - works with MS Edge, Chrome, Firefox on Windows, Mac, Linux. Make sure you download via the official extension store.
2. SponsorBlock - If you watch YouTube videos and are not a big fan of irrelevant shilling of VPN services, wallets (or other BS ads) get SponsorBlock - a crowd sourced ad skipper - Home (https://sponsor.ajay.app/)
There are many much more sophisticated ways to shield your eyeballs from getting farmed out but the above are super quick/easy to install and run with virtually no configuration requirements.
That's all. Thought it might make your days a little better. Certainly helps browsing some other forums a little easier on the eyes.
