Hey Guys,

I am willing to wait until next year to order a 2021 C8 Corvette and what is the best way to put in an order.

I went to the Chevrolet Dealer and the sales manager he told me that I can't get any and they are back ordered and there is no way for me to get one for next year and he says maybe in 2 years.

He always says that there are people buying them and selling it an insane price. Price Gouging.. Tabarnak,

What are my options?

… it would help to first know where you are from and where you were looking
… cannot see a location on your profile

I have a few good recommendations across the Country
so it's a matter of my recommending a place most convenient for you
along with another (even if distant) ...all for you to decide between.

You need to assess how important it is to you to get it as soon as possible or from a dealer that you can build a relationship with. You need to ask how many allocations will they get for 2021 vs. how many people are already in line with deposits. Going to a high volume reputable dealer will not get you a car as soon as possible if there are many many people in front of you. The online configurator can assist you in building your car as you like and the pricing is there. Then you can simply shop for a dealership that has the best ratio of orders to allocations. Again you have to ensure they are honest and I am not sure how you do that. Certainly those here on the site are committed to the Corvette Community and will likely give you the honest answers but that does not mean you could not find a situation that may get you a car faster from another dealership with allocation but not a top ranked vette specialist. Given what my dealer has told me, 2 years sounds about right. Given that 20K 2020 orders were pushed back to 2021's then that only left an available 20K for existing 2021 order intakes. The 2021 year is likely sold out already. Not saying for sure but likely. Best of luck and the car is well worth the wait in my opinion.

I seem to recall from many months ago that Bowling Green was going to eventually run two shifts and produce 40,000 to 45,000 Corvettes per year. Not sure if that's still the plan but if the demand is as strong as it seems for the next couple years it would make sense. When you factor in the global demand for right hand drive cars they will need to step up capacity to enter those markets as well.

I'll add this: whatever happens, make sure you get a commitment from any dealer you place a deposit with, that the C8 will be sold for no more than MSRP. Then to really protect yourself, confirm that agreement in writing and if the dealer doesn't automatically do so, send an email back where you confirm the conversation with your salesperson. Any reputable dealer will readily agree to MSRP being the maximum asking price and unfortunately, with the demand this year and (likely) next, you'll probably not do better than MSRP. The dealer may throw in an accessory for free (ie. floor mats or a car cover) and hopefully you'll get something off things like an extended warranty, but I'd be surprised if you'd pay less than MSRP for the car itself, for the foreseeable future and until demand settles down.

Aside from that, you've received good advice from others here so you should be OK.

As for how many C8's will be produced for 2021, who knows? GM is already starting with a reduced manufacturing time since it's extended the 2020 C8 production by several months. And then there's the still-present-threat of COVID-induced delays which will remain with us until an effective vaccine is developed, assuming that ever happens and COVID is eradicated.

Good luck and according to most people here, it's worth the wait although I suspect they're ALL very biased! :)

Hey Sly,

I would put the Google Machine to work and get a List of dealerships from Canada and Start calling. You may also have another option that many overlook. You are Canadian and you can buy Used C8's from the USA and that can be something like a Demo Car or a Salesman Demo, these Corvette's are all used but, with very low miles if any. There are many very "Reputable Dealers" that do not do mark up. Rick Corvette Conti out of OHIO and is one of those salesmen.

Also in Mike Furman at 503 QUINCE ORCHARD ROAD GAITHERSBURG MD 20878 , CALL US (888) 771-4421 you can deal with the Number one salesman in the USA if not the World usually have many more options than other salesman and dealerships because of the quantity he sells every year.

Also, some times on my Instagram Blog salesmen will post last-minute sales from Canada & USA @CorvetteSuperCars I have also seen C8 Corvettes on www.Bring-A-Trailer.com
