You need to hear from C8 owners. On my C7, 2016, there is a dedicated outlet in the trunkthat is meant to be used for when your car is not being used. For the C7, you must use thatoutlet. The reason being that all other outlets, eg. cig. lighter, shut down after the car isturned off. So trying to keep the battery charged via the lighter doesn't work !!Older 'vettes do not present the same problem; my C6, Z06 could be maintained via thecig.lighter with no problem.My 2002, 911TT was quite happy being maintained by the Cetek charger.Hope this helps.Tony
