After Corvettes my hobby/passion is audio gear, mainly of the analog variety.
I'm into turntables and reel-2-reel decks, collecting, restoring and using.

I finally bought some LP frames last week and decorated a feature wall in my theatre/audio room.
Also included

a picture of my main audio analog 'rack'....

thanx for looking.

Those frames are pretty neat Graham. You can be constantly changing artwork, those old albums were created by some very talented artists.

Just a suggestion, you can improve the performance of the turntable by taping a stack of pennies on the needle end of the tone arm. Always worked for the equipment I used.

Do you look for particular brands of equipment? They certainly look impressive.

What turntable do you have Graham?
I too was once into 'equipment' .. but have since passed it on to my brother.

High power Marantz, Dual TT, Homemade passive speakers, EQ, tapedeck.
Was really into it in the 70's and 80's and loved my system but since lost interest.

I make do with my decent 'puter speakers now or the cars' systems which aren't bad at all.

Thanks for sharing your stuff.

Colin.

Colin..
The table is an Oracle Delphi MkII..SME arm, Shure V15V cartridge.
A respected turntable in the audio world..Still made to this day in Quebec..
The decks are TASCAM 1/2 track studio units....amazing sound.
I have tons of other gear in my other 'vintage' audio room.
Phase Linear, Bose 901's, B&W, B&O, DBX, Systemdek, Carver, NAD, Rotel, Advent, etc.
It's been a long-time hobby.
thanx for looking.

Here's two audio items I was gifted last week from a friend.
They had been in storage for 25+ years.
DUAL 1009 turntable.
It needed a new power cord and 'going thru' to rescue it back to life.
The case/lid needed re-gluing and reassembly.
A respected table in it's day. It works great now.

This is a SONY TC-377 7" reel deck.
In surprisingly great shape just needing a wipe-down, cleaning and reassembly.
Plays excellent.

My wife was away in Paris for a couple of weeks so I got to smuggle these into the house and have some fun rebuilding.

thanx for looking.

New tube amp arrived a couple of days ago.
MONOPRICE 25W + 25W...
This should pair-up quite nice with my newly-built full-range speakers.

We just played James Taylor from a 45 year old tape on a 40 year old open reel tape deck, thru a tube amp into homebuilt speakers... it doesn’t get more olde school than that!
It sounded wonderful.
Thanx for looking.

Are those 901s for sale ?? Not likely I’d say !! I had 4 of the 601s back in the 80s. Absolutely loved the sound of those.

Still have a JVC AX-5 Amp and a JVC SEA-70 12 band/ch EQ. Vintage stuff now that I bought new at “The Joy of sound” on October 12/82. They've been boxed since 98.

I’ll get you some pics Graham soon.

Great gear!
Memories of when I DJ'd in the 80's. Had a Rotel ampI bought used, silver front, big handles and 200W per side @ 8 ohms. it blew up one night as the cooling fan stopped working so got it repaired. tested it out by setting up in the basement hoocked up to PA sprakers and ran it all day long @ 8 on the volume dial. Was still working when got home and no marks on the doort from the neighbor!

Here’s a shot of the vintage room...
A few systems in here...acquired over years of being in the hobby.
A lot of it needed a good cleaning or repair when they arrived.
Two systems in here run 130W/chan thru Advents and B&O speakers..
A Carver receiver with 200W/chan powering the home-built 1972 Bose-Clone 901s.
And Phase-Linear 400/4000 amp/pre-amp. 200+W/chan.
Assorted open-reel decks from a SONY 3” portable I got when I was 13, numerous 7” decks and on to 10.5”, 1/2 track TASCAM Studio machines.
My wife never goes in this room... ! Lol

There is also a full surround system somewhere in there as well..

I love toys.
Thanx for looking.
