Anyone know what this hole in the door is for?

air vent for interior back window/circulation?
It's air conditioning for the rear passengers!
I just looked. It's right at your shoulder so I'd guess it just for creature comfort.
My guess, for what it's worth, is a vent to allow the doors to close easier in airtight vehicles....
I also say some type of venting....
Nice guess but the windows on the C8 go down 1/4 inch or so when you open the door and up again once closed. Don't know if the C7's do that. Another thing that will break eventually.
Yeah. The C7 does that, as did my C6. Surprisingly, never heard of any problems with that feature over the years. Have to re-initialize the windows if you ever have a dead battery though. Ok.... so maybe it's a vent for when you're shutting the rear hatch?....

This is all I can find.
If you were to remove the door skin, there is nothing in behind it other than a slot leading to the middle of the door.
If you recall at the start of production of the C5, I was there to see my door skin warp in the hot April Kentucky sun.
All of a sudden my car is on hold. The C8 Corvette 3LT door skin has a $4K+ part cost. In the direct sun there is a
whole lot of heat build up in behind that door skin. That vent allows heat to escape thus preventing warping as
we've seen in the past.
