It's not normal. Put your car in manual mode and take it for a drive running through the gears between at least 1-7. Then once everything is at normal operating temperature put the car in D and do the same and see if it will make the 3-4 shift in Sport mode or Z mode which will give you more aggressive shifting. Then the same thing in tour mode again.See if that solves it, if not tell us if your getting any warning lights and have your dealer see if any codes are showing up.
