Hello Paul here,my wife Claire has owned her 1979 L48 corvette since new(it was the dealer owner demo car)with 5,000kms on it at the time.It is still all original except for the radio that was replaced with a aftermarket stereo.It now has 270,00kms and is ready for the frame off restoration.It sits up on the 4 poster in the shop and hasn't been driven since 2005 due to it having a tired original motor now.My wife has every bill since new for her car and it was driven everyday until 1992.

I agree, it sounds like a good project! You don't hear of an original owner C3 very often!!!

Is that a 72 Chev half ton behind the Vette? What is it used for? Is that why your number is 72? I was on the pit crew for my cousins Thunder, Street Stock, and Pro truck the last seven years.

if you're doing a frame off... I have also seen a place in the US that you can actually buy a completely ready C3 frame that will accept all the suspension and running gear of a C4 vette... compared to restoration costs, it could be a viable option... (and would make the LS-1 swap REALLY easy LOL)

yes that is my old stock car that was a 72 C10 1/2T pickup I raced against cars and won twice with it,I have since built a new race car that I got 5 test races on it in Aug/Sept/10 I have to change the hood and have a new motor built for so they get done in the next few weeks here are the street stocks

Ok now here is the bad news my wife thinks we should sell the Corvette because of my racing program...I just retired in Sept and my pension doesn't go as far as my pay check went...She feels that the car won't get done because of the costs in our racing and we haven't found a buyer for the old race car...To tell you the truth I just took pic's of the car today but I am really dragging my feet on putting it up for sale....(I hope she doesn't read this)I am stalling as long as I can hoping that the old race car sells so we will play this day by day...If the old one goes the vette will stay.

Very cool. I have never seen trucks mixed in with the streets although I'm sure each track has it's own definition of street. Hopefully everything works out with you and you get to keep the Vette!

I guess I better explain better yes the first truck is a 1/2T pickup right down to the chassis we were to have a truck only class but it failed so we got thrown to the street stock car class.Now the second race car is a 1975 Chevelle coupe on 112" wheel base and we put a 68 C10 truck shell on it so what your looking at is a car with a truck body on the second one..Here is my web page on the build

Hope you don't have to sell the vette she will look sweet when the project is complete.
