After 3 years of waiting..

Congrats. The problem that worries me about these long wait periods, is that once you get the car, one assumes you will have it for a long time to enjoy without issues. I keep thinking about things like theft or accidents (sad thought I know). I tell so many people they should go nuts on tracking services for their car, and they look at me strange and respond with the same old statement, but I have insurance. Let's see how long you will wait once that check from the insurance comes in, the issue remains, long wait times and lack of inventory. Same worry for accidents, will there be parts shortages to repair a damaged car, can't imagine parking our C8 for weeks or months while waiting for a part to come in that is backordered.

Going off topic here from your good news of finally being able to order your dream car, but I keep thinking what will happen when I get mine, I will be beyond paranoid where I park that thing, and will have no less than 2 maybe 3 tracking services installed on it. Already testing out 2 now on the wife's Lexus IS F-Sport, one with paid live GPS tracking and live maps.

Either way, enjoy the car, and can't wait to experience your excitement when my turn comes some time in spring.

Will do one better, rather than have my detailed answer buried here in this thread will create a new one to share my experience with what I am using or have tried in the past including cost for each. This way others can benefit from the info

During my 1st few weeks (Nov 2021) I was paranoid where to park and even what streets were OK. Sometimes I thought everyone was watching me (maybe). However, after the first month or two you get over that and it becomes just a very nice car. After 6 months I don't wash it so often, don't worry about where I park and don't worry about storing or having repairs done.

Wow. I read some of your posts and sympathize. I read a post you submitted in 2019 that said you were number 5 on a list. Wondering what dealership? I started to look in Oct 2021 and decided to pay a premium for a 2021 C8. Turns out with stock market drop I actually saved money (S&P 500 down 16% since I sold to buy C8).

Also read your post that your ordered Lamborghini so did you get that?

I ordered and sold the Lamborghini. The #5 dealer has not called me back whatsoever and when I inquire, they tell me they have not received any allocations since. No way of me checking to see if they are BSing or not.
 
I also question some dealerships? My dealer is great while I know of a friend who went into another local dealership last March and wanted a red C8. Not sure how he got a car delivered in July...exactly what he wanted, while that dealer has 40 plus car waiting list?

As I and another local member found, you can get a C8 quickly if willing to pay a premium. Mine was available in a week and similar to what I wanted. If you want to order a specific set of options and pay MSRP I was told 2 years and did not care to wait. I guess I am not that fussy as to what color the stitching is o_O
