A Little help for the plugs

Getting bored already so got another mod from Zip Products in Mechanicsville Va. -- A little help getting max spark to those plugs.
LOve the little bootie heat shielding.

Any really noticeable differences physically between these and the stockers? I'm assuming seat of the pants comparison is out of the question for this time of year.:D

I've not had time to delve into it yet but I'm assuming the overall size is same perhaps with some increase in boot and wire size.
They look much bigger because of the 'socks' on the plug boots.
When I get in there I'll post up a comparo of the OEM's and aftermarket.

Hibernation???....I took mine to work today...and probably on Friday..+6 and sunny both days :D... Looks like I will wrap it up after Fridays drive...I think this weekend will be it :(.....I changed the oil last week to get her ready for a few months sleep

Yeah, days like the last couple and tomorrow make me wish it was still on the road -- Enjoy the days while we got 'em Peter....

Next week is lookin' more wintery for sure. Still hoping to meet up with Tony and the gang next Wednesday tho.

Thanks Colin I am enjoying it while I can :). Friday should be it though, Going to clean her up inside and out then drop in the fuel stabilizer, hook up the CTEK and cover her up this weekend.

Not looking forward to it :( damn!..LOL
 
Manny, I've been reading about poor plug wires from the factory even on newer cars. These poor wires are brittle, cracked and all but falling off both the coil and plug causing misfire, rough idle and poor performance.

What has been your experience with OEM wires and do you caution to at least check these wires for damage and possible replacement?

I usually put over 300K km on vehicles before we send them down the road and I haven't changed out a plug wire in over 20 years. I don't fix what ain't broke and have had excellent results with factory wires in recent times. When you do pull them off the plug, be careful, as you can mess them up if you get too rough.

Colin , for the most part the factory have not been an issue in the first few years of the cars life . They do however become brittle and as you said cause misfires and poor running conditions .

This is the same for much any wire set that you install be it facory or aftermarket and especially on high powered cars like our Corvettes that generate a lot of heat .

It is our recommendation that plug wires be inspected with every oil change and at minimum replaced every 5 years .
