The day started off well. Beauty top-off morning. Quick breakfast, little tinkering in the shop and then off on the run by 10:00 am. Hwy 21 with a quick stop at Henry's Shoes in Trochu (I polished Ginger while Brenda shopped), then down to Hwy 1 and over to Strathmore. Little tour around town and then east back on 1 to Gleichen, Cluny and Bassano. Then up through Hussar to Drumheller and then Wayne. You just can't go near Drum without stopping at Wayne's Last Chance Saloon. After a beverage, we were back on the road towards Pine Lake and home. Through Drum and onto 56, across the Tolman bridge on the way back to Trochu and Hwy 21. Now for the "almost". Hwy 21 heading North on spanky new asphalt 😂 was sweet. Right up til I pulled out to pass a concrete truck and a stone came up and smacked the top edge of the windshield...hard.... Hmmm.... no mark I can see, nor star, no crack... I was thinking I got lucky. Not to be :Wtf:... By the time I drove the rest of the way home and pulled into my shop, this pale looking line is what was what was creeping down across the drivers side of the glass.... I'm thinking of starting a Go-Fund-Me for a new windshield drive... or re-mortgaging the farm...

JK ...but I am a bit p!ssed none the less...

I have windshield glass coverage on my Grand Sport through AMI AutoGlass Insurance: Protect your autoglass | AMI Autoglass Insurance Costs me $180.00 per year with $50 deductible for replacement. I was very surprised by the low cost. Agent said "all Chevrolets are the same price". My Wife's Infiniti EX35 would have been $300 per year. I think they only cover vehicles registered in Alberta.

Bummer. Makes you feel a little sick.

Go to a Glassmasters location after getting a new one and ask for the protection application some locations offer.

Prevents chips and cracks.

Added it to my ZR1 in 2012 and nothing and heard the odd loud twap

If it's the Diamon-Fusion product you are talking about Brian; I got some from you a few years back in Ponoka. It did it's job as I had several stones attempt to ruin my day since that application. This one wasn't to be denied. The DFI is a great product and improves windshield clarity 10 fold as well when it's raining. This was just bad luck. Is it the Diamon fusion you are referring to here?

Oh ya.. can't remember all I got it for.

Ya, but they have a new line they are using now.

Told that if a real big rock then the stuff won't save but most normal size it works well.

This was a fair sized stone and it hit square to the windshield. Any before that flatter angled in just skipped off with nothing more than a little pitting. I love the Diamon product though. In motion, I rarely have to turn the wipers on if I get caught in the rain.
