Just picked up my 2024 recently, tried out the A/C, and blows warm air. Dealer tested it, and I have a leak in part inside the dash....now whole dash has to come out to replace parts, etc...
Anyone else experience this problem? I think the evaporator was the culprit.

So bummed out... I hope this is not a sign of things to come.... I didn't even get through a full tank of gas?!

Hey David .... Sorry to hear this ... but not even getting through your first tank of gas ?? Wow ....

I know its a Hail Mary but if you called GM and requested a new car ? I guess they would just say thats what warranties are for ...

Heres the problem with that .... replacing an evaporator ... or a discharge/suction line ... or repairing a leak in the cold air delivery system is pretty major surgery

Requiring them to remove most of the dash ... even if they get it fixed and working ... what other collateral damage would they cause to the parts they remove and replace ?.... In my experience thats more of an issue than the original problem.

Back in the days of R-12 freon you could drive around with a hole the size of a dime ( bit of an exaggeration ) somewhere in the system and it would still blow cold because of the size of the molecule of that freon ..... but with all the enviromental freons ... the slightest compromise in the system and the gas is gone

Being a brand new car ... it may be worth making some noise about this ..

Good luck !

Is your point of sale dealer a high volume Corvette seller/fixer?
I'd never trust mine to do something that complex.

No issues with my 24 air con . Fingers crossed. Although I started to get an annoying ticking in the dash which appeared suddenly the other day. No impressed, but fortunately it disappeared as quickly as it appeared. More fingers crossed. I hope it turns out to be an easy fix for you. 🤞

Appreciate everyone's input and support! Johnny Mac, I will be calling up GM to make noise on this one.... but I expect they will reply just like all the people who have had transmission issues.....
To be honest, if they follow a manual for removal, that would be fine by me, instead of pulling and prying.

The dealer is not high volume but average I guess... in the heart of Toronto. They seem to have a good team, they park and protect my car when it's in their hands... they assured me the person doing the interiors is not a tech, but rather an interiors specialist with over 30 years experience. I am also going to ask them to replace all broken clips and pieces which break upon removal.

Regardless, I know there will be collateral damage. I am buying a cheapo seat covers for my delicate suede inserts and taking pics of all the dash condition prior to surgery. I have the adrenaline red and red stitching.... it pains me to see this all come apart.

Total estimated time is 4 days total, parts take 4-8 days to arrive from US. Maybe I'll post pics of this whole event in case it happens to others.
