Three hours to go….Spoiler alert if you are taping… Action Express In Control With Three Hours Left The No. 5 Action Express Racing entry continues to hold a dominant lead in the Rolex 24. (IMSA Photo) DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – With just three hours left in the Rolex 24 at Daytona Int’l Speedway, the No. 5 Mustang Sampling Cadillac DPi of Action Express Racing continues to hold a commanding lead. With Joao Barbosa wheeling the car he has shared with Christian Fittipaldi and Filipe Albuquerque, the team leads by more than three laps over the second Action Express Racing Cadillac DPi driven by Felipe Nasr, Mike Conway, Eric Curran and Stuart Middleton. Third overall belongs to the CORE Autosport No. 54 Ligier driven by Colin Braun, Jonathan Bennett and Romain Dumas. They’re four laps behind the race leading No. 5 of Action Express Racing. The race has only been slowed by four cautions through 21 hours. In contrast, the 2017 edition of the Rolex 24 was slowed by 21 caution periods. The fight in GT Le Mans continues to be between the two Ford GT entries. The No. 66 Ford GT shared by Sebastien Bourdais, Joey Hand and Dirk Mueller continues to lead the way. They’re followed by the No. 67 Ford GT shared by Ryan Briscoe, Richard Westbrook and Scott Dixon. Third in class belongs to the No. 3 Corvette Racing entry driven by Mike Rockenfeller, Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen, but they’re more than 30 seconds behind the lead Ford GT. In GT Daytona, the No. 11 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 of the GRT Grasser Racing Team has moved to the front of the field. Shared by Rolf Ineichen, Mirko Bortolotti and Franck Perera, the Lamborghini has more than a 20 second advantage on the No. 86 Acura NSX GT3 shared by A.J.
