2021 C8 Must Have Options??

I agree with a few of the reasons for the 2LT upgrade - which automatically includes some other options (oh well).
I have a 3LT C7 without magnetic ride (wife's has it). I do not lose any enjoyment without it.

I am like many (not all) before the time of this C8 where I saved for pretty much my first 3 to 4 decades of driving life
before jumping in and buying my Corvette. Because of that, I saved and saved to purchase without compromises.
As a result, I am enjoying my ride(s) without the "I wish I had ..." syndrome. So it was and will be my option to go 3LT and
not toss between 1LT & 2LT. It's pretty clear that after a year that when you take your new C8 Corvette back to the Dealership
to inquire about trade-in for an upgraded model ... that these cars are not an investment what-so-ever. Resale buyers want
everything for nothing too. So I get every option I can save for and/or afford with financing and enjoy the heck out of it.
Not saving it for the next owner - they get my seconds.

By the way the 2020 model has gone ... I have to say that ...
Production, Shipping & Dealership PDI would be the most valuable "C8 options" in 2021 perhaps

Good points. I guess I am much like you in that I can afford to pay for what ever options I want; however, for me, I see no tangible benefit for paying for 3LT when I get everything with 2LT except for the upgraded seats. Unless there was a big change for the C8? I am toying with ordering a C8 keeping in mind my wife's incredible angst about me doing so. If I do, I would order: convertible, 2LT, carbon fiber interior pkg., front lift system, black wheels, upgraded exhaust, red brake calipers and maybe the GT2 seats. Still sitting on the fence!! It is starting to hurt - LOL. :Cheers2:

I tend to agree completely with his assessment. I did the engine cover as a separate buy so I would have two to play with. I did not get the mag ride but did do the Z51 for track time. Again to each their own. No wrong choices here.
Yes. You are right. I would never track my car - so, for me no Z51. I would want to drive mine longer - so, AS performance tires would be great for me here in Lotus land.

Yes I hear you. Sitting there at ordering and every "option" is just another 2K what's 2K when your already at 70K...But it soon becomes 93K haha. I also did the 2LT with the GT2 seats. Love the seats. I did the coupe. It may be just me but with the ability to remove the targa, that is convertible enough for me. The front lift was an absolute must have for me and I love it. I come to my office, where I have a large curb and the car automatically raises from memory. Gotta Love it!

Nice car - like the color! Front lift is definitely a must. I bottomed my C7 big time - going very slow in a mall - the bloody bumps were everywhere and the same color as the asphalt. I golf - so, vert, so I can travel with lid down and clubs in the trunk- ditto if I travel anywhere; however, the vert with taxes (BC high taxes) is an extra $11K+ - ouch!! Enjoy your car.

You too! I am loving mine so far! Can't get out enough in it! Yes your taxes are a big ouch!

Captain Kirk, "Scotty, give......me......more......convertible!"

Scotty, "Aye, Captain."

:Cheers2:
Just tell me what I get for 3LT vs 2LT man? I hate alcantra (not sure part 3LT on C8) - period! C8 you can upgrade the seats to GT2 - so, waiting. Before you suggest price etc. - I can afford it - trust me - its, well, what do I get for my money? I did not get fairly rich by spending money willy nilly - LOL! :cigar::cigar:

3LZ for me with every option I can get. Yes I pay cash for my cars and Hummers. (ya those too)
Can't spend all that money when your d and gone so enjoy it while you can. Just my philosophy so to each his own. My last car was fully fully loaded with the exception of the comp seats and I loved every second of owning it.
I don't give a s**t about resale value or any other nonsense. It is my enjoyment that counts. Now I sit and wait for the car I want to appear. Could have bought 10 of them already but I want the car I want... full load and specific transmission. There were some close calls but so far no perfect match. Sooner or later it will pop up and I will have it.
I find it hilarious to read people whining about options on the 1LT and talking about value for the money buying a corvette. Really keep going with that... it is great entertainment.

Totally agree with Derek (above)... If you're financing, what's a few more months of payments. I pay cash as well, don't care about resale, insisted on all the options, didn't want the comp. seats. Looked at two cars on the lot (weren't a lot of C7's to pick from in AB. in 2015). Both 2LT's. Salesman was an idiot but no matter... Told him If I was going to buy it would have to be optioned out. The 3LT DSOM was hiding in the showroom and had all the bells and whistles. Only thing I regret was the Lexan roof came as part of the dual roof package lol. The only roof I have ever had on is the exposed carbon fibre...Love the look of that roof.... The lexan sits in it's box on a shelf in my shop.
I had a good buddy pass away before I purchased my C6 (years prior to the C7) and that was my life wake-up call that it can sneak up on you out of nowhere. Like D said, once you're dead, someone else is spending the money you worked hard for.... Enjoy life while you are alive.... JMO

You are a man of wisdom Derek! You make a lot of sense; but, for some, I think price/cost can be an issue? Have a great day. :Cheers2:

Well thanks James. Kind words you send to a middle-aged teenager. Yes cost certainly may be a factor in the decisions of some and I fully respect that. I just find it hilarious to watch first time corvette owners claiming to be wealthy rationalizing resale value remaining close or more than the new price and using low option load to keep the initial new cost down. Or even funnier is the slagging of options as useless and unnecessary. I think power memory seats was my favorite. Imagine being a bigger guy and getting in and out of a corvette without the auto exit function and memory seat and mirror positioning after you get in. Wow, that would be such a pita re-adjusting each and every time. For me it is a must-have option if you want to enjoy your corvette. Especially if you are planning to be keeping the car for years and years.

Anyway, it is all in fun. Hope you do convince your better half to let you have that new toy as I want to see it next time we meet at Graham and Bevs place. Pretty sure I already know the trim level and color combination.

Derek, I cannot disagree with you. I do not even worry about resale, trade-in values and what have you. I do know that if I am getting a sports car I want all the bells and whistles you describe - period! I hope you are having a great summer. Played golf to-day on a really hard course - shot 91 with three 8s on the par 5's - brutal. Did not putt very well either; but, had a great time with my tennis buddies. I could have shot 86 if I putted half decently. Playing a lot of tennis and loving driving my C7! I love my black hat - my go to driving hat!:heavycar:

There is a reason the Spanish word for an eight is 'oucho'... Three 8's and still pulling a 91 is still respectable Jim....

Soooo, WN just put my order in for 2021... unfortunately the sales person mentioned there is no high wing spoiler for the 2021.

anyone know aftermarket place for the spoiler?
Don't need one - LOL! Not at the speeds you will be driving!
