begins tonight with qualifying from Melbourne Australia. Interesting thing this year is the new “halo” around the cockpit to keep the drivers head safe from contact. This item is either a “like it or not” kinda thing. It was debated for a few years after the tragic death of Jules Bianchi who crashed into a crane vehicle a few years back in wet conditions at Suzuka Japan and was all but decapitated.

During last nights practice session,many drivers were saying its very obtrusive and other things I can’t repeat. Fernando Alonso gave the team radio quite a workout as did reigning World champion,Lewis Hamilton.
