This coming weekend, Saturday June 30th, is the car show in Camrose, Alberta.
Camrose is less than an hour southeast of Edmonton, and it's revitalized old-fashioned downtown main street is a fantastic backdrop for a huge variety of cars through the ages. I have not missed one of these annual shows in more than twenty years. If you haven't been to it yet, you need to go.
The cars start parking down the main street (50th Street) around 9am, and only pedestrians and cars entered in the show are allowed on the main street. There are plenty of interesting shops and stores for the spouses to browse while you check out all the cars. There are lots of categories to enter your vehicle in, and lots of trophies.
After the Show 'n Shine is over and the trophies are handed out, there is an organized cruise up and down the main street that can go on for hours. After dark, there is a Drive-In Movie at the Edgeworth Center that is just like old-school, but with new-school movies and sound through your car stereo.
It is a wonderful day of fun for car fanatics of all ages.
