Just read this over at the other site that any one that purchased a new 2007 Indy 500 Pace Car was supposed to receive a commemorative license plate with the car which was numbered to match 1-500 cars.
Many of these plates were never given out to the buyers, so the factory sent all these plates to the National Corvette Museum. They will give the plate to anyone that has the serial number that matches ones that were never given a plate. A donation to the museum will get you your plate if eligible. Here is a pic of one of the plates. Never hurts to call Betty at the museum if you own one of the 500 cars.

Betty is great but may I suggest you go to Chevrolet Corvette Pace Car Registry and I am sure they can get you a commemorative plate.

The first roughly 25 plates were legitimate Indiana licence plates used only on the official on-track or festival cars that were used at Indy. These were for legitimate road use but I think they were only good for one month. You don't have to be the original owner to get a licence plate that will be numbered in the build sequence of the balance of the replica cars. Here is my collector plate just lying on my hood and you can see it was the 338th Pace Car built in 2007. However, my opinion is they are only good to sit in your garage or on your parked collector car. There is no place on a C6 to put two plates on the back and no-one wants to put it on the front either. Just one more memento like those car show trophies.
